The aim of this International Competition was to design a Container Vacation House overlooking the Bondi Beach waterfront in Sydney, using freight containers. Inspired by local flora, the idea was to develop the building like an extension of the roots of the tree, which generate life on the ground, while the leaves searches the life in the sky. The project started as a game for the movement of the volumes that, finally, have founded their final disposition like the roots of a plant. Green color has many several meanings. Green is the color of nature, the color of the life, of the fertility, green is respect and fair. The tree is associated to life, strength and stability. The tree generates life, from its leaves, its trunk, and also from its roots.

L’obiettivo del concorso era quello di progettare un complesso residenziale composto da container che si affacciassero sulla spiaggia di Bondi Beach a Sydney. Ispirandosi alla flora locale, ed ai temi sopra citati, è nata l’idea di sviluppare l’edificio come se fosse il prolungamento  delle radici dell’albero, che generano la vita al suolo, mentre la chioma cerca la vita nel cielo. Il progetto è nato come un gioco per il movimento dei volumi, che poi, proprio come le radici di una pianta, hanno trovato la loro disposizione finale. Il colore verde ha tanti significati. E’ il colore della natura, della vita, della fertilità, del rispetto e dell’equilibrio. L’albero è associato alla vita, alla forza, alla stabilità. L’albero genera vita, dalle sue foglie, dal suo tronco, ed anche dalle sue radici.
